Anxiety and other forms of neurotic suffering can teach us about our way of life. [Anxiety signals to us] that the life path we’re on is not conducive to our wellbeing.
Developing resilience is not for the faint of heart, but neither is much of life.
We must learn how to emerge from the challenges of life not weaker and more apathetic.
“I have never encountered a difficulty that was not truly the difficulty of myself.” --attributed to Carl Jung; I found it in the comments section of a Academy of Ideas video
“Every difficulty in life presents us with an opportunity to turn inward and involve our own submerged inner resources.” --Epictetus, The Art of Living from Academy of Ideas: The Psychology of Resilience: Thriving on Adversity
Self-reliance [makes us] active sculptors of meaning and seekers of significance.
We must step off the sidelines of life and establish a uniformed direction to our existence in which we, and not others, are the final authority.
"Anyone who refuses to experience life must stifle his desire to live." --Carl Jung, Symbols of Transformation from Academy of Ideas: Carl Jung on Overcoming Anxiety Disorders
“Both ruin and salvation have their source within you.” --Epictetus, Discourses from Academy of Ideas: The Psychology of Resilience: Thriving on Adversity

Comments 2019/03/22:
Academy of Ideas (A/I) is my favorite YouTube channel. Though I don't agree with all they say – and there's probably something I don't agree with in each video – their videos make a great basis for a daily active-meditative discipline. Each day since late December 2018, I watch one A/I video per day, pausing to record quotes that resonate with me. Overall, I do agree very much with their values.
